Black-Eyed Susans and Curious Donations in Wonderland

In Wonderland, blooming summer flowers have their own timing and rhythm. These flowers grace my dad’s old tool box, from welding days in the skyscrapers of Denver. His box now wears the VERKSTAD logo, the name our workshop in West Seattle. Donations simply appear on our steps or driveway, eager for new life and open to interpretation. Often, these are discarded toys - like this early Ken doll, lacking arms. My mission is to rejuvenate broken or weird items - repurposing their meaning, in the process. Placement is key. Just imagine having a fun, old-time Urine Detector in your pool! It’s an exciting collaboration with a community. People make return visits, looking for their donations, in newest form. Photographers abound, these days!
